About
About the Conference
A conference series on language education, technology and artificial intelligence, held twice a year in Kuta, Bali, Indonesia.
Why this conference
Language education has moved from computer-assisted and mobile-assisted learning to generative AI tools that converse, draft, translate and give feedback in seconds. These tools open real possibilities for practice, feedback and access, but they also raise hard questions about the role of teachers, learner agency, the validity of assessment, authorship, data privacy and digital inequality.
Technology does not by itself produce better language learning. The conference therefore rests on one principle: technology-enhanced language learning must remain pedagogy-driven, evidence-informed, context-sensitive and human-centred.
The conference is organized around one question: What should language education become when technology and artificial intelligence increasingly participate in teaching, learning, communication, assessment and knowledge production?

- Technology should serve pedagogy, not replace it.
- Artificial intelligence should extend human capability while preserving human responsibility.
- Teachers must remain meaningful pedagogical decision-makers.
- Learners should develop the capacity to use, question, evaluate and create with technology.
- Language technologies should respect linguistic and cultural diversity.
- Innovation should be accompanied by ethical responsibility.
- Digital transformation should contribute to inclusion rather than deepen inequality.
- The future of language education should be shaped together by teachers, learners, researchers, institutions, technology developers, policymakers and communities.
